Sri Vidya Dosha Nivarti Sankalpana Archanai -2010

Vidya Dosha Nivarti Sankaplana Archanai has been conducted every year(for the last 3 years) around early Feb. This year this is being celebrated on Sunday the 07th Feb. An article came out in the Kumudam Jodidam issue in Dec 2009

Last year more than 13000 archanais were performed and around 30,000 bhaktas visited the temple on that day alone.

Information regarding the archanai

> Archanai can be booked at the temple itself.

> Those who cannot go to the temple and book for the Archanai (Rs 25 per archanai) can send MO or DD (Payable Chengulput or Chennai) to Executive Officer, Sri Devanathaswamy Temple, Chettippunniyam, Chengulput 603204. The Gothram,Nakshatram (Star)and Name should be clearly mentioned.The complete postal address is also required if the prasadmas are to be posted.Please mention if you plan to collect the prasadam from the temple.

> For people in Chennai one may also buy the Archanai tickets at Sri Yoga Hayagriva Seva Samithi office (actually our house) at 35 Nachiappan St, Mahalingapuram, Chennai 600 034, Tel 2817 2634. Since this is our house we would appreciate if bhaktas to come between 10 AM and 5 PM.

If you plan to visit the temple and collect prasadams then the MO or DD receipt should be kept safely and this should be shown (as proof of payment) and prasadam will be given.

Directions to the Temple

The normal temple timings are from 07:30 AM to 12:00 Noon and from 4.30 PM to 7.30 PM and open on all days.

The phone number is 044 27400863 but you may not get proper connection as WLL connectivity in village is poor.

The temple situated 5 Kms from Singaperumal Koil and 3 Kms from the Mahindra World City (take road right opposite to the Mahendra World City entrance).

Route 1:-
Take a local train till Tambaram. Catch a bus from the station to SinghaPerumalKovil.(SingaPerumalKoil is 48 km from Chennai on the National Highway to Chengalpattu)And then take an auto from there to Chettipuniyam.

Route 2:-
If driving from Chennai,take the National Highway to Chengalpattu.Keep going towards Mahindra City.Take a right and follow the only path resembling a road into the village.During major events (Hayagrivar Jayanthi and Sri Vidya Dosha Nivarti Sankalpana Homam )Vehicles are not allowed till the temple entrance as it will clog the roads.You can park at designated areas and walk it down to the temple.
